So for the last few days, I've been playing Sonic Unleashed on the Wii! Spyro was decent, but the game was messed up and kept freezing so I traded it in for Sonic. I haven't played Sonic since my Gamegear days (which is when I was about 4... which is before I had N64. God I'm old XD), but I thought I'd give it a chance.
Turns out, it was a good bet! I absolutely LOVE Sonic Unleashed. I think I'm on the final dungeon already, so the main arc is rather short, but there's tons to do on the side. It's so different to play Sonic in 3D. I really really like it! My mom, on the other hand, said she felt sick watching me play lol. Like most Sonic games, half of it is built on speed courses. However, the other half has turned it into an action RPG-ish game where Sonic becomes a Werehog (hedgehog + werewolf = werehog) and you fight a bunch of enemies. There's also a lot of platforming which I've heard people compared to Tomb Raider/Prince of Persia etc. It's really quite fun, but it took me a long time to get used to the Wii engine for that portion. Fighting involves moving the controller and nunchuck around, but for those that hate the Wii controler + nunchuck combo, classic and GameCube controller options are available as well! I also scream a lot at the TV when I'm playing this game because I really suck at platformer games. It's really rather funny to me and I can only imagine how strange my parents must think I am when they see me screaming at the TV XD Okay well screaming is probably an exaggeration but you guys get the point lol. Towns are kind of lazily done, but it doesn't detract from the gameplay value IMO. For anyone with a Wii/PS2, I recommend you try out this game if this sounds interesting =D Obviously, I haven't played the completely different 360/PS3 versions but I'm sure that one's fun too!
Taking another trip with NOSB this weekend to Laguna Madre (spelling?) but I will be back midday Sunday. For those that I have numbers of, I'll probably text you guys if I ever get bored (i.e. waiting a gagillion years at Joe's Crab Shack for food to arrive >.>). Bye for now!
