Daddy's Galore!
Lol this morning I woke up at 10:30 and got a text from my best friend 15 minutes later asking me what did I plan to do for Father's Day. When I told her, I was still trying to figure it out, she was over 10 minutes later saying she'd help me bake a cake!
I had never baked anything before, nor was I in the kitchen that often, so a lot of that morning involved scavenging around for bowls, stirring spoons, and other items of the sort. Halfway through mixing, we were like "OMG WE DON'T HAVE ICING!" so we speed stirred, put the batter in the fridge, and ran to the Dollar General on the other side of the field XD At the same time, we bought some chips to much on after we got back.
When we got back, I was sweating horribly (yes I am THAT out of shape apparently lol) so I turned the AC on blast and stuff before we stuck the batter in the oven. Our genius plan while we waited 35 minutes for the cake to bake? Eat hot dogs and chips and watch Pokemon the First Movie! Neither of us had watched that in a long time, but we used to be really really REALLY x7 big Pokemon nerds so we were pretty excited and dorked out. 35 minutes is basically enough time to watch the Pikachu's Vacation short episode. So cuuuuuute! And weird... BUT CUTE! Now that we're older, we had a lot of commentary on stuff that didn't make sense, but hey, IT'S POKEMON! IT DOESN'T HAVE TO MAKE SENSE lol.
Timer goes off, scrambling ensues. We realize that we didn't remember to open the oven vent!? Luckily nothing turned black and the cake seemed fine. It rose into a nice dome-ish shape. YAY FOR RISING! After it cooled for it a bit, it was then time to add the chocolate icing <3 We grabbed a spoon and Char just dumped a HUMONGOUS glob on there. I was like "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG!" I think that was enough for most of the cake after we spread it. My dad didn't come home this afternoon, so we couldn't yell "SURPRISE!" together, but not to worry! It's sitting in my fridge, waiting for my dad to return tonight.
Afterwards, we started talking about games including Final Fantasy. We saw some weird tech demo on FF7 and freaked out only to find out it was an over-hyped rumor T_T Then I showed her FF8 and Xenogears, both of which she hadn't played, and she became excited about those games lol. She really wants to expand Xeno Star to cover Gears now XD I also lent her my copy of Persona 4 and she's REALLY enjoying it. Yay for best friends! They are so awesome! (But none as awesome as mine <3)
I hope my mom doesn't get mad at me for baking a cake O_o ... BYES!
[Matt apologizes for how hyper he seems in that entry. He is really starting to throw back to the style of his older Livejournal entries O_O]
